This guide is pretty simple, or atleast somewhat simple in my eyes. Im sure there are atleast a few people who already know how to do this, but since I have experience working with the cracked minecraft and getting it to work with friends, I figured I would post something that would help out the community.
Ok, so this will be a step by step guide, and is a little tedious, but bare with me I will have everything spelled out for you. No pictures, sorry, im lazy. Might go back and change that if I get enough attention from this.
UPDATE: Minecraft has updated it's login system so the previous method no longer works, I have updated this guide with a workaround found by Sergii1312. Major props for this fix!
Requirements:
A minecraft.net account! This is very easy to make, and it is free. Just go to minecraft.net
Download this: Minecraft version 1.2.5
This is a modified version of the technic launcher that allows cracked logins, it is third party so its not guaranteed to be safe, but I scanned it with Avira and no viruses were found. I'm a player just like you guys, I use this, and I got no viruses. Use at your own risk regardless

Disabling your antivirus for the duration of the installation of your minecraft. This might seem dodgy, but all the files I give you are clean. The reason for this is because after reading comments on this thread, AVG and other antiviruses may interfere with the downloading of the mods using the Tekkit.jar
That's all you need to download, unless you are running a tekkit server, in which case you will also need to download Tekkit server! I'll have a server guide after the normal player guide.

The easy guide to making minecraft work with your computer, no pirate bay or viruses to be afraid of!
Now that you have the technic launcher and java installed, go ahead and launch the technic launcher. ( You did install these right? Read above if you haven't --^ )
Either one of two things will happen, the launcher will come up like normal, or you will recieve a error regarding something about not finding java. I already have a fix for this..those who already have the launcher open can disregard these steps.
1. Go to My Computer under your C drive and find Program Files (x86)
2. Inside Program Files (x86), find the folder labeled "Java" and COPY it
3. Press the back button to go back to your C drive
4. Go to the Program Files folder (NOT x86)
5. Right click and paste the Java folder you just copied here
6. Run the minecraft launcher again, it should work. If it doesn't, post a comment
Previous method I had here was out of date, so im going to update this very simply, the new cracked technic launcher found by Sergii1312 makes this quite easy.
1.Under the username and password fields, fill in the username and password you used when you registered at minecraft.net
2. DO NOT LOGIN!
3. On the left, you should have a blank grey rectangle with a arrow pointing down. Select the mod pack you want, or vanilla if you just want normal 1.2.5 minecraft.
4. Now click login. It will download everything. After it launches, you aren't done. Seriously. Even when it launches and you think you're done. Don't QQ to me when your minecraft crashes or you have some other problem down the road using this specific launcher and not following my instructions. Close the launcher and continue this guide.
5. Click the start button on your computer and bring up the search function that is listed there (should be right there on windows 7, on vista and xp I believe there is a seperate button for it)
6. Type in "run" (without the quotes), the program should pop up on the search list, click it
7. Type in "%appdata%" (again without the quotes), click ok or press enter
8. Go to the ".techniclauncher" folder
9. Inside that folder, double click on the folder of the modpack you chose.
10. Select everything in this folder and COPY all of it
11. Press the back button twice to get back to the "Roaming" folder
(WARNING: This step will not work if you have stuff in this folder already, open this folder, BACK UP YOUR SAVES if you have any, and delete everything in it except for the folder itself. This step is crucial, as old mods in your previous minecraft directory will likely clash with the new ones your trying to install.)
12. Go into the ".minecraft" folder and paste everything you just copied here
13.Go back into the .minecraft folder and double click on the bin folder
14. Now assuming that you have winrar or a similar program, right click on the file jar "Modpack", select Open With.., and click WinRar Archiver.
(UPDATE: Upon reading various comments of people having problems with this guide, one of the top ones seems to be not being able to find the Modpack jar. I honestly have no idea why this would happen, but the only thing I can recommend is deleting everything in your minecraft folder again and restarting this guide.)
15. Minus out the Modpack winrar window that pops up, and right click on the file "minecraft" in the bin folder, select Open With... and click WinRar Archiver
16. Open up the Minecraft window from WinRar and delete the folder labeled Meta Inf
17. Open up the modpack window from WinRar and select every single file in the archive with a click and drag box.
18. Now that those files are selected, click and drag the entire selection into the Minecraft WinRar jar archive. Choose to overwrite all existing conflicts
19. Download Click Here to download Minecraft launcher. It allows you to login to a cracked minecraft, but more importantly, it skips online authenticity, which you will need to do to play.
(Trust me, it's safe. I uploaded it onto my personal mediafire and I dont have any viruses)
20. Open MinecraftSP. Enter any username you wish and click login.
21. You are now free to play whatever modpack you chose!
Disclaimer: If you recieve an error on launch at any step of these processes, 9/10 it is because you did not follow this guide to the letter. One of the most common things im reading in peoples crash logs are mods that were added by the user that did not exist in the modpack conflicting with other mods and causing a crash.

Tekkit Server Guide
1. Go to your desktop, or wherever you want really, and create a folder labeled "Server". Copy and paste the tekkit server you downloaded before into here.
Disclaimer: For the noobs who have no idea to run servers, not going to name anyone in this forum thread, you need to go into server properties and set "Online-Mode= True" to "Online-Mode= False".
2. Run your tekkit server. You should be able to connect and everything as normal by going into multiplayer through the minecraft sp launcher and typing in the name you want to use and typing in "localhost" under direct connect.
3. If you want to get the ip of your server, go download PFportchecker

4. Share this ip with your friends so they can login to your server, if they dont have minecraft, refer them to this guide and make them complete the single player guide, they will use step 20 to launch minecraft to join your server.
5. Your done!
